A special COVID-19 message from Principal Chief Richard Sneed. | Cherokee, NC

How will Cherokee affect you?

Your safety comes first. And fun isn’t far behind.

Hello to all:

Recently, across the Qualla Boundary and in various regions identified by the CDC as having “high” or “substantial” coronavirus transmission rates, COVID-19 cases are on the rise once again. That’s why I’m asking all of our guests to resume wearing masks indoors.

These extra precautions won’t hamper your big outdoor adventures or explorations of Cherokee’s fascinating culture and history—they’ll simply keep you, your fellow travelers, and all of us in Cherokee just a little bit safer. Come, join us, and have a wonderful time. Just please remember to wear a mask.

You can continue to find information on safety guidelines and maintaining good health here:

Thank you, and until we see you again, be safe.

—Richard Sneed, Principal Chief
