The Schedule
The Music on the River 2016 lineup includes a mix of all different kinds of music. Whether you are a big fan of country and bluegrass or prefer blues, rock 'n' roll, or gospel you can find free concerts in Cherokee this June, July, or August that will be music to your ears.
In July, the band Trippin Hardie will entertain people of all ages with their fun covers of songs you love from the '60s, '70s and '80s as well as their own unique originals. Prefer honky tonk? Don’t miss the Aaron Jones Band, an outfit from Asheville that blends guitar, fiddle, and upright bass to create a sound that is a mix of classic country and honky tonk with a little bit of blues, swing, jazz, and rock thrown in.
Throughout July and August, the classic rock fan should come out to hear the A36 band. Love country? Come hear the Will Hayes Band or Running Wolfe and the Renegades. AM Superstars are in a category all their own, though they have been described as, “awesome acoustic rockabillymericana.”
And finally, gospel singer Reba Elders will be bringing her beautiful voice to the Music on the River stage two more times this season.
